Disclaimer: I am not a writer.  Be gentle with any grammatical errors i may have missed.  I just want to make a point.

First and foremost, I am a pretty heavily tattooed individual that completely disagrees with the author of this article.  But, I am appalled that so many called this girl a cunt and sent her masses of hate mail.  This poor girl made her opinion known.  Why start a lynch mob because someones opinion differs from yours?  It makes no sense.

I would like to share a story about a close up experience I have had with a person who’s ideas paralleled this college paper author.  My boss and a customer of his were talking at the counter one night.  They were discussing my boss’ daughter recently going out and getting a tattoo (against his wishes).  He explained that she was an “adult” now and she may do as she pleases.  But thankfully she got something that was feminine and small and it could be hidden if need be.  The customer went on a tangent about how young people today ruin their bodies and it just makes them ugly. etc.  He went to great lengths about how they are bad and most people that get them are bad.  It was quite a bit more “high horse” than the article under attack was.  Meanwhile I was standing there in a t-shirt with both arms tattooed, as well as them on my hands.  He looked me up and down and said, “Why the hell did you do that to your body.”  I politely responded, “it’s how i like to express myself and i enjoy the art form.”    To which he replied with a grunt and walked out of the door.  

I do not begrudge this man, nor should anyone who holds a differing opinion or even lifestyle.  And with all the hate mail this girl is receiving, and the stupid cheap shots i see about how “she’s a cow”  or “maybe some tattoos would help her”  just makes you look like a close minded ass hole.  THE SAME THING SHE IS BEING ACCUSED OF!  

I would just like to close in saying; don’t crucify someone for publicly writing an opinion, no matter how one sided it is.  Just disagree and state why if you feel the need to respond.

Word round the campfire from some sources tell me that Green Lane Celtic fest will be no more. I’m putting it out there to see what people think about this. Also anyone have ideas on an alternative spot for this amazing festival???
